Postpartum Services

In addition to my doula services, I offer postpartum services as well.  The 4th trimester (6 weeks following birth) is a time to relax and be grateful to your body for all that it has done over the past 10 months.  Recovering from childbirth needs to be done gently and gradually, beginning with the bond of breastfeeding to start healing and eventually getting back in to a safe workout routine.

Emily Wannenburg, founder of 4th Trimester Fitness Method, created this program in an effort to change women's lives as they step into motherhood.  It is more than a method, it is a way for women to become educated and empowered to be the best they can be before, during and after baby.

As your 4TFM instructor, I am proud to offer these classes which will help you to maintain fitness safely during your pregnancy, prepare you and your partner physically for the task of labor, and give you a way to gently ease back into fitness once your baby has arrived.

Prep4Birth™

 

Join our Prep4Birth class, designed specifically for pregnant individuals to effectively use birth balls, peanut balls, and CUBs (Comfortable Upright Birth) to enhance physical and mental preparation for labor and birth. This 3 hour class will teach you exercises and positions that promote optimal fetal positioning, relieve discomfort, and support an active labor. Additionally, you'll learn techniques to stay relaxed and focused, empowering you with the confidence and tools needed for a smoother birthing experience.

Prep4Partner™

 

Our Prep4Partner class equips couples with essential skills and knowledge to ensure the birth partner can provide exceptional support during labor and delivery. Through practical exercises, communication techniques, and hands-on practice, partners will learn how to effectively comfort, advocate for, and assist the birther. This class fosters teamwork and confidence, ensuring both partners feel prepared and connected throughout the birthing experience.

Postpartum Recovery®

 

Our 6 weeks Postpartum Recovery class is designed for early postpartum moms and their babies, focusing on physical recovery exercises and essential education on pelvic and core health. Participants will engage in gentle workouts tailored to support healing and regain strength, while also learning about common postpartum experiences and how to navigate them. This supportive environment helps new mothers connect, share, and recover both physically and emotionally.

Lactation Support

 

As a Certified Lactation Counselor, I am qualified to assist mothers with breastfeeding based on the most up to date, evidence based practices.  I believe thatvwith propervsupport and education, mothers are most often able to navigate this sometimes overwhelming yet always rewarding task. I  will, without judgement or agenda, guide and support you as questions and concerns arise If it comes to a point where I feel like someone with more qualifications such as an IBCLC should become involved in helping you, I can point you toward further support. I  am an active advocate for breastfeeding mothers and I love to help women in my community feel comfortable and capable breastfeeding whenever and wherever they choose.

I am certified as a Lactation Counselor through The Healthy Children Project since October 2016 and have hours of experience supporthig my doula clients as well as women in my community.
