Apart from my doula services, I also like to offer postpartum services as well. The 4th trimester (6 weeks following birth) is a time to relax and be grateful to your body for all that it has done over the past 10 months. Recovering from childbirth needs to be done gently and gradually, beginning with binding and warming to start healing and eventually getting back in to a safe workout routine.
As a Certified Lactation Counselor, I am qualified to assist mothers with breastfeeding based on the most up to date, evidence based practices. I believe that with proper support and education, mothers are most often able to navigate this sometimes overwhelming yet always rewarding task. I will, without judgment or agenda, guide and support you as questions and concerns arise, and if it comes to a point where I feel like someone with more qualifications such as an IBCLC should become involved in helping you, I can point you toward further support. I am an active advocate for breastfeeding mothers and I love to help women in my community feel comfortable and capable breastfeeding whenever and wherever they choose.
I am certified as a Lactation Counselor through The Healthy Children Project since October, 2016 and have hours of experience supporting my doula clients as well as women in my community.
